Stipend Opportunity: ABA Specialist Mentor
We are seeking current ABA Specialists to provide mentoring support to new ABA Specialists. This support will be outside of the current ABA Specialists contracted 7.5 hour working day.
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: The new ABA Specialist mentoring support provided through this stipend opportunity will achieve the following goals:
- Improve staff morale throughout the district
- Provide a development/leadership opportunity for experienced ABA Specialists
- Contribute to the development and success of new and existing staff
- Support ABA Specialists who do not have a support system of other ABA Specialists within their schools
- Compensate ABA Specialists who are already providing support to new staff informally
Responsibilities:
- Time Commitment outside of contractual working hours per mentee small group:
- Month 1: up to 2 hours per week
- Month 2: up to 1 hour per week
- Month 3: up to 2 hours total if needed as determined by Mentor/Mentee/Program Director
- Mentor will use the New Hire Training Tracker to guide the training
- Items will be checked off as completed and all items must be checked off before completion of training
- Communication with Program Directors
- Mentor will keep track of all communication with mentees Program Directors
- Mentor will communicate at least once a month with each Program Director about mentees progress and upon the completion of training
- Mentor will document all performance issues/concerns as part of this communication
- Mentor will fade supports in the first 2 months based on mentees needs to avoid wasting time and resources
Compensation:
ABA Specialists will receive a stipend of $41 per hour for services provided that meet the above expectations for up to 12 hours per mentee small group across a 3 month period. ABA Specialist Mentors may support 3-5 mentees at any given time meeting primarily in small groups with additional 1:1 sessions scheduled if needed as determined by the Mentor and Program Director (for a maximum of 10 hours per mentee).
Qualifications - Required:
- Currently in the role of ABA Specialist for at least 6 months
- 3-5 years experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder students with moderate/severe disabilities or related disorders
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in ABA intervention including data collection and report writing
- Demonstrated ability to accurately and consistently follow Behavior Support Plans and Curriculum Plan
- Effective written and oral communication skills with students families teachers and administrators
- Proficiency in the Google Suite (gmail google docs google sheets)
- Demonstrated growth toward cultural competence
