Role Description:
At CoStar Group our finance group centralizes transaction processes providing accurate reporting financial resolutions and proper forecasting analysis. Joining the team offers access to financial specializations including cash accounts payable prepaids fixed assets leases accruals debt payroll and stock-based compensation.
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for assisting with the global consolidation of the Companys financial statements with a focus on helping maintain and enhance the Companys ERP Oracle. Responsibilities include working closely with the financial systems team on Oracle upgrades and implementations of new functionality and maintaining and designing reports used for management and external reporting. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in communicating with the broader finance organization to understand the needs of the business and ensure ERP updates are appropriately implemented.
This Senior Accountant will also be responsible for various month end close duties including recording journal entries preparing account reconciliations analyzing fluctuations and various other ad hoc projects as assigned. This person will also be involved in the integration of acquired businesses including the integration and mapping of GL systems. This role will also include reporting responsibilities related to monthly management financials and quarterly and annual SEC filings.
Responsibilities:
Assistance in a variety of aspects of the Enterprise Resource Planning system implementation and maintenance
Assistance with special projects within department or as part of cross-functional teams
Preparation of monthly journal entries and supporting schedules and review of monthly financial results
Research technical accounting issues
Work with external auditors and facilitate review of the close process account reconciliations and variance analyses
Ensure timely monthly close and accurate monthly results
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance or related from an accredited not-for-profit University or College.
A track record of commitment to prior employers.
3-5 years accounting experience working in a large international public company and/or Big 4 accounting firm.
Strong Excel skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience at a Big 4 accounting firm preferred
Licensed CPA or candidate
Strong project management time management and communication skills
Consolidations and/or financial reporting experience
Payroll accounting experience
Familiarity with ASC 718
Experience with Oracle Cloud ERP
Ability to think critically and analyze data effectively
Ability to work with financial systems design structure and reporting
Ability to work effectively within a team to complete projects
