The Opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Manager Youth Programs to provide strategic leadership across a complex portfolio of youth initiatives spanning Grades 7 through early post-secondary. This role is responsible for aligning team efforts with organizational goals shaping departmental strategy and ensuring that youth programming achieves meaningful and measurable long-term outcomes.
As Senior Manager you will oversee and integrate multiple programs manage cross-functional collaboration and lead high-level relationships with funders post-secondary institutions employers and policy stakeholders. You will be accountable for managing complex multi-year budgets embedding systems that support growth and impact and positioning Visions of Science as a leader in STEM equity.
This is a senior leadership role that requires strategic thinking systems-level influence and the ability to represent the organization externally while ensuring excellence internally.

- Job Location(s): Toronto-based. Hybrid model with occasional in-office work (71 Regent Park Boulevard) and remote work as applicable.

- Salary: The starting salary for this position is set at $82000 per year with opportunities for growth based on performance and organizational advancement.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Alignment
- Shape the overall direction and long-term strategy for youth programs ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and community needs.
- Oversee a complex portfolio of programs and initiatives integrating efforts across teams and functions to achieve measurable outcomes and reduce duplication through streamlined workflows..
- Manage multi-year program strategies and budgets ensuring accountability sustainability and equity in resource allocation.
- Lead organizational change management efforts to embed new systems processes and ways of working across program areas.
People Leadership & Team Development
- Provide senior-level leadership to program managers and coordinators building team capacity and ensuring consistent performance across multiple program areas.
- Foster a high-performing culture that emphasizes accountability collaboration learning and youth-centered practice.
- Guide recruitment training and professional growth to strengthen leadership capacity within the department.
External Relations & Sector Influence
- Build and maintain high-level relationships with funders post-secondary institutions employers government and policy stakeholders.
- Represent Visions of Science in external forums roundtables and sector initiatives positioning the organization as a thought leader in youth engagement and STEM equity.
- Collaborate with Development and Communications teams to support funding strategies reporting and organizational storytelling.
Program Innovation & Impact
- Provide oversight and quality assurance for program models curriculum and flagship events such as the STEM Futures Expo.
- Lead curriculum design adaptation and evaluation to ensure programming is relevant inclusive and impactful.
- Streamline and strengthen program models and delivery approaches to ensure scalability sustainability and consistency across sites.
- Lead innovation in career-connected learning post-secondary readiness and experiential pathways for youth.
- Ensure programming is scalable sustainable equity-focused and responsive to emerging opportunities work-force changes and challenges.
Systems Monitoring & Accountability
- Champion systems thinking by embedding evaluation data and continuous learning and improvement across all programs.
- Embed CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce) into daily program management workflows to improve efficiency track participant journeys and enable cross-program learning.
- Be accountable for reporting on impact sharing insights and closing the loop by translating evaluation findings into curriculum refinement program strategy shifts and staff learning.
What Were Looking For
Education & Training
- Post-secondary education in a relevant field (e.g. education youth development STEM public policy community engagement) or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Demonstrated commitment to professional learning and equity-centered leadership.
- Ongoing commitment to professional development and continuous learning.
Required Experience & Expertise
- 710 years of progressive experience in youth development education or nonprofit program leadership with at least 35 years managing staff teams.
- Proven ability to lead multiple programs or initiatives at scale aligning them with broader organizational strategy.
- Experience managing complex or multi-year budgets and delivering on long-term program outcomes.
- Demonstrated success in cultivating and maintaining high-level partnerships with funders institutions or policy stakeholders.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage through change and build high-performing teams.
- Availability to work occasional evenings/weekends for youth events and showcases.

- Communication & Advocacy Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to advocate for youth and amplify their voices within broader systems.
Preferred
- Prior work with racialized newcomer or low-income youth and families with a commitment to equity and inclusion.
- Familiarity with STEM education workforce development or experiential learning models.
- Knowledge of Torontos youth-serving and education ecosystems.
- Experience with Salesforce Asana Notion or comparable systems.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools.
