Summary

We are currently looking for a Manufacturing Technician to support our Salt Lake City Utah facilities to work with the lead manufacturing engineer on new detector products. Our New Product Introduction team wants an individual who is self-motivated hard-working eager to learn new things extremely organized attentive to detail and has outstanding communication skills.

This engineering role develops implements and maintains methods operation sequence and processes in the manufacture or fabrication of parts components sub-assemblies and final assemblies. Work directly with Manufacturing Lead Engineer and other engineering teams during the development and release of new detector products. Estimates manufacturing cost determines time standards and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines.

Job Description

OTHER SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS OR DUTIES

  • Build and test engineering detector prototypes and provide analysis and feedback to Design Engineering on manufacturability and technical issues.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot product/process failures providing feedback and solutions to engineering
  • Creation of engineering documentation.
  • Creates work instructions and test scripts.
  • Define and Perform verification and validation testing
  • Analyze and mitigate manufacturing risks using six sigma tools (i.e. Process Maps FMEA etc.)
  • Monitor performance of new products and drive initiatives to continually improve the product/processes.
  • Prepare documentation write reports and give presentations

SKILLS KNOWLEDGE AND CERTIFICATIONS

Minimum Required Skills and Knowledge

  • HS Diploma or GED
  • 3 years of experience in manufacturing role
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at one time.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in technical field (i.e. engineering computer science)
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in creating reviewing and editing relevant technical documents.
  • Strong interpersonal organizational technical analytical and reasoning skills.
  • Experience using: SAP ERP; SAP MES; ETQ; Microsoft Office Suite- Excel in particular.

Required Certifications and Training

  • Obtains and completes LMS training plan specific to assigned responsibility.

Experience Level with Business Tools

  • Familiar with business tools such as: E-mail Microsoft Word Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with SAP or equivalent ERP product and productivity software desired.

  • Reaching above and below the shoulder occasionally.
  • Above-average agility and dexterity with the ability to hold grasp and manipulate small parts and use hand and power tools occasionally.
  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and handle physical exertion such as long periods of standing walking bending crouching stretching reaching repetitive motion or similar activities.
  • Work environments includes: controlled environment/cleanroom.
  • Travel to 1-2 sites. Valid drivers license. (if need on job profile)
