Job Description Summary

The position is responsible for oversight of the accounting and general ledger activity for First Insurance Funding Canada (FIFC) and US (FIF). This position will report to the VP General Ledger Management (GLM) First Insurance and support the CFO Chief Accounting Officer and SVP GLM Non-Banking Products. This role will be expected to interact cross-departmentally with multiple levels of management and handle sensitive information on a regular basis. Additionally the position supports other areas within the organization in tasks related to premium finance lending.

What Youll Do

  • Management of First Insurance Funding accounting for Canada including general Ledger activity and analysis reconciliations and currency revaluations. Examine data flows to the general ledger and develop automated processes for data review and reconciliations

  • Management of First insurance Funding Accounting for US General Ledger Activity and Reconciliations

  • Support Chief Financial Officer Chief Accounting Officer GLM SVP Non-Banking and GLM VP First Insurance Funding

  • Collaborate with FIF-CFO FIFC-CFO FIFC-VP Finance Treasury and Performance Management

  • Support Special Projects for FIF and FIFC

  • Collaborate with auditors to address any inquiries related to general ledger accounts and to be able to provide any necessary supporting documents and explanations regarding general ledger transactions

  • Ad hoc projects and requests

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in finance or accounting

  • 7 Years in Finance / Foreign Currency Accounting Experience Preferred

Compensation

The estimated salary range for this role is $71000 - $92000 along with eligibility to earn an annual bonus. Actual salaries may vary based on several factors such as a candidates qualifications skills and experience.
