ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Reporting to the Senior Coordinator Environment and Resource Recovery the Coordinator Environmental Management is responsible for the development implementation and reporting on environmental and asbestos management focused strategies and actions from Councils Community Strategic Plan Delivery Program and Operational Plan. The Coordinator will also contribute to the overall effective operation of the Environment and Planning Directorate.

The successful applicant will require:

  • Tertiary qualifications in environmental management environmental science environmental health sustainable development or equivalent
  • Significant experience working in an environmental management asbestos or sustainability role
  • Experience in the supervision of staff including their professional development performance management and reporting against set benchmarks
  • Experience working with Senior Management and Councilors including the preparation of reports delivery of presentations and provision of advice on a range of matters
  • Proven ability to prepare implement and deliver programs and grants including ability to plan promote and manage stakeholder engagement
  • Strong interpersonal written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Class C Driver Licence
  • Working with Children Check

About this role:

  • Permanent full-time position
  • 70 hour fortnight
  • Access to Councils 9 day fortnight Accrued Day Off (ADO) arrangement
  • Located at Councils Auburn office frequent travel required across Council worksites and may be required to work across any of Councils work locations

Salary information: The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award.

  • Grade 14 of the Cumberland Salary Structure with a salary range of $2303.00 to $2648.45 per week plus 12% superannuation
  • The commencing salary will be negotiated taking into consideration the successful applicants qualifications skills and experience related to the role
  • Car allowance of $11608.48 per annum or a leaseback vehicle
  • Mobile phone

What youll need to have for this role:

  • The right to live and work in Australia
  • Be able to provide information for pre-employment checks required for the position including attending a physical pre-employment medical examination as required
  • Participate in health monitoring as outlined in the risk assessment for this position and Councils Health Monitoring Procedure as required
  • Provide evidence of your vaccination status as part of the employment screening process in accordance with Councils COVID-19 Vaccination Procedure.
