GENERAL DUTIES:
Provide educational supports to all students under the direction of licensed staff. Supervise students in various settings and monitor for safety concerns.
Provide support for staff students and the community within established procedures. Maintain and process school records.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or its equivalent
- Proficient oral and written communication skills in English
- Proficient in the use of computer and Internet based applications including but not limited to email and systems applications
- Experience working with children
- Highly Qualified status required(two years of post-secondary education or an associates (or higher) degree; or District approved academic assessment)
- Bilingual English/Spanish required(bilingual is defined as fluency in reading writing and speaking two languages as determined by District screening tool)
- Carry out the operations within an assigned area of responsibility and serve as backup to other areas
- Maintain files and update records within an assigned area of responsibility
- Prepare reports notices and correspondence
- Assist with the coordination of events and meetings
- Communicate with parents students and the community
- Respond to and troubleshoot common concerns and refer problems to the appropriate resource or administrator
- May supervise students and/or administer student assessments within established protocol under the direction of licensed staff
- May be required to maintain current First aid/CPR certification and implement medical protocols as needed
