Appointment will be made on salary scale (44563 - LSI) at a point in line with Government pay policy.

Hours of work:

35 Hours (full time)

Position Summary:

To work as part of a multidisciplinary diabetic foot team in delivering high-quality person-centred evidence-based podiatry service that meets the complex needs of service users. The post holder will provide care across a range of clinical settings including inpatient wards outpatient clinics haemodialysis units vascular and orthopaedic services and will liaise closely with the diabetes service within the hospital. The successful candidate will receive comprehensive mentorship and clinical support from the Clinical Specialist Podiatrist as they integrate into the team and develop their professional competencies.

Mandatory Eligibility Criteria:

1. Statutory Registration Professional Qualifications Experience etc
(a) Eligible applicants will be those who on the closing date for the competition:
(i) Be registered or be eligible for registration on the Podiatrists Register
maintained by the Podiatrists Registration Board at CORU.
AND
(ii) Have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability
and professional ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.
AND
(iii) Provide proof of Statutory Registration on the Podiatrists Register maintained
by the Podiatrists Registration Board at CORU before a contract of
employment can be issued.

2. Annual Registration
(i) Practitioners must maintain annual registration on the Podiatrists Register
maintained by the Podiatrists Registration Board at CORU.
AND
(ii) Confirm annual registration with CORU to the HSE by way of the annual Patient
Safety Assurance Certificate (PSAC).

3. Health
Candidates for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of
undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a
reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.

4. Character
Candidates for and any person holding the office must be of good character

If an appointee has previously been employed in the Civil or Public Service and that appointee is entitled to or in receipt of a pension from the Civil or Public Service or where a Civil/ Public Service pension comes into payment during the appointees re-employment that pension will be subject to abatement in accordance with Section 52 of the Public Service Pensions (Single Scheme and other Provisions) Act 2012.
