Strategic Business Manager

The role:

The Strategic Business Manager will play a leading role in directing the definition and commercial delivery to the marketplace of solutions built out of the Energy Transition into Financials strategic project in Commodity Insights. This business-oriented leader must possess excellent communication skills and affinity for revenue generation. S/he will play a critical role in developing market penetration strategies to position our Energy Transition products in a manner that delivers greater value simplicity and appeal to target Financial clients. The individual will be responsible for implementing commercialization strategies based on validated market research to deliver a comprehensive solution to the financial market.

Role & Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for driving revenue growth through understanding client needs and responding to emerging market challenges:

  • Develop and implement product commercialization effort including:

    • Collaborate with Commercial partners to create appropriate pricing and packaging.

    • Maintain and communicate ongoing solution and market readiness status.

    • Ability to articulate (and train colleagues) product positioning to a financial business audience.

    • In collaboration with Product Marketing Create broad solution stories that are compelling to higher-level C-suite audiences.

  • Create processes to fast-track sales enablement structure in collaboration with CIs Commercial and CX teams.

  • Stays abreast of the latest developments trends and regulatory changes in the financial industry.

  • Drives high-touch customer focus / advisory user groups to identify current and future business needs that may be addressable within the financial segment.

  • Manages financial performance to drive growth. Work cross-functionally to remediate under-performance.

  • Action items to senior team within the given segment to agree on actions and priorities.

  • Promoting collaboration with other teams across SPGI to drive business growth and deliver superior customer experiences.

  • Work with Product Management to prioritize product development roadmaps based on opportunity size expected revenue uplift and available resources.

What were looking for:

  • Proven track record of at least 10 years in business development product commercial and/or strategic leadership roles related to positioning data/insights/analytic products (preferably S&P Global products) into the Financial community/segment.

  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.

  • Pragmatic Marketing trained/certified or equivalent a plus

  • Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders in disparate business lines.

  • Understanding of CI and MI sales processes.

KPIs:

  • New Product Revenue (i.e. Vitality)

  • Satisfied financial clients with strong retention rates with brand presence in the market

This role is limited to persons with indefinite right to work in the United States.

Compensation/Benefits Information (US Applicants Only):

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $149233 - $214999. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individuals geographical location as well as experience and qualifications for the role.

In addition to base compensation this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.
