The Retreatat Sheppard Prattconsists of a 22 bed residential program nationally renowned for expert care. The Retreat is designed for patients seeking a comprehensive evaluation and intensive treatment experience in a psychotherapeutic milieu unencumbered by the payment policies of third parties in order to give our residents a chance to make meaningful progress toward recovery.
The Retreat offers an elegantly appointed settingin a specially renovated space on Sheppard Pratts main campus in Towson (Baltimore County).Residents stayfor an intermediate length of several weeks to several months. The Retreat embodies a multi-disciplinary treatment approach to a variety of psychiatric conditions that can be treated safely and effectively in a voluntary unlocked environment. These psychiatric conditions may include mood disorders personality disorders anxiety disorders and/or co-occurring disorders including substance-use disorders.
As a Mental Health Worker you will:
- Participate in the planning and evaluation of patient needs based on patient behaviors.
- Provide direct patient care services in accordance with the treatment plan and under the direction of a professional nurse.
- Assist in providing a safe and therapeutic environment according to established policies and procedures
Requirements:
- HS Diploma/GED. Human Services related degree or past direct care or related experience strongly preferred.
- Must be available to work every other weekend (Saturday & Sunday)
- Must be available to attend 7 day mandatory clinical orientation training: Thursday Friday and the following Monday through Friday (excluding Saturday & Sunday) 8:00am-4:30pm each day.
- In addition to the 7 day clinical orientation you will be required to complete a 4 week unit orientation. During this time you will be required to work 3 day shifts per week.
