Admission Counselor / Assistant Director of Admission Primary Function: The Assistant/Associate Director of Admission is responsible for coordinating the development implementation and assessment of recruitment efforts in their assigned territory. The Assistant/Associate Director will participate in all on and off-campus recruitment events. Auxiliary responsibilities will also be assigned based on the candidates strengths and the needs of the office. Administrative Responsibilities: - Planning and execution of travel and office-wide recruitment efforts to assigned geographic territories. The expected timeframe for travel is up to 6-8 weeks in the fall and 2-3 weeks in the spring.
- Represent Hanover College at high schools and college fairs.
- Participate in visitor experience by conducting individual interviews group presentations and information sessions. This would include in-office meetings and on/off campus events held during normal business hours some evenings and weekends.
- Application Management: Read and evaluate admission applications for geographic territories. Assist in holistic application review; assist in follow-up for application completion.
- Represent the College in various state organizations.
- Coordinate communication initiatives and follow up with students in the enrollment funnel within assigned territory.
- Represent the Office of Admission with outside constituencies (i.e. athletics student life parents/alumni board etc.) as assigned.
- Provide periodic Saturday office coverage.
- Assist with all on and off-campus visitation programs
- Maintain a working knowledge of financial aid programs and policies in order to communicate with students/parents and assist in the yield process.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Financial Responsibilities: - Responsible for appropriate use of college credit card during travel and accurate expense reporting using Certify.
Other Responsibilities: - Travel to recruitment regions other than assigned as needed.
- Promote a positive image of Hanover College and represent the College in accordance with the Colleges mission principles and strategic plan.
- Support a welcoming College environment..
- Perform / complete other projects and tasks assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications: Education Certifications Training Experience - Minimum Bachelors Degree required
- Three to five years previous admission experience or related professional experience required
- Working knowledge of Slate is helpful
Skills Competencies Abilities - Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Well-developed interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Adaptability to be successful in a fast-paced work environment.
- Valid drivers license excellent driving skills and comfortable in various driving conditions/environments.
