Step into a leadership role at Birmingham City Council and help shape the future of pensions services for thousands of employees pensioners and external clients. Were looking for a skilled and motivated professional to manage a team delivering high-quality customer-focused pensions administration. Youll ensure that all statutory and business deadlines are met while maintaining compliance with scheme regulations and Council policies. This is a chance to lead with purpose in a role that blends operational excellence strategic thinking and meaningful public service.
As the team manager youll oversee up to seven staff allocating and reviewing workloads to meet performance targets. Youll be responsible for processing membership records managing pension payments and reconciling contributions to the West Midlands Pension Fund and Teachers Pensions. Your role will also involve responding to complex queries supporting pre-retirement and induction presentations and representing the service at professional meetings. Youll be a key player in driving continuous improvement and shaping the teams direction.
Were seeking someone with experience in shared services pensions delivery strong operational knowledge of relevant legislation and the ability to manage relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. Youll be confident using financial software resolving transactional enquiries and leading a team in a fast-paced evolving environment. Your communication skills strategic mindset and commitment to service excellence will be essential to your success.
