Job Summary
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Brentwood to assist with the appointment of a Project Manager on a 6-month contract highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: 388.46 - 488.95 per day
Summary:
The Project Manager role will lead and coordinate the implementation of the Renters Rights Act 2025 across Rochford and Brentwood Councils. The postholder will ensure statutory compliance manage delivery against key milestones and support effective engagement with tenants landlords and internal and external stakeholders ahead of the May 2026 implementation deadline.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and support a multi-disciplinary project delivery group across Housing Environmental Health Legal Finance IT Communications and related services
- Develop manage and monitor a detailed implementation plan to meet all statutory requirements and deadlines
- Review develop and update enforcement policies civil penalties service charges and IT system requirements
- Support the development and delivery of communication plans for tenants landlords and partner organisations
- Identify manage and report project risks and ensure inclusion within the councils risk register
- Assess resource requirements including staffing training and recruitment needs
Essentials:
- Proven project management experience ideally within local government or housing
- Strong knowledge of housing legislation and the private rented sector
- Experience coordinating multi-disciplinary teams and delivering complex change projects
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience in policy development risk management and statutory compliance
