Summary: Responsible for the daily delivery of radiation treatments to cancer patients CT simulation and initial set-up of new treatment areas and for providing emotional and educational support for radiation oncology patients and their families Assists physics staff to ensure treatment records and dosimetric procedures are completed accurately. Works directly with physician at the machine and with simulation Performs ionizing radiation treatments schedules patients for treatment to ensure a smooth department flow and quality care to patients Performs radiographic and CT procedures producing images for the interpretation by; or at least request of a licensed practitioner Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor complementary to medical ethics Provides appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure Requirements: A certificate from an accredited education program in radiation therapy RT(T) Registered Radiation Therapist or registry eligible ARRT American Registry of Radiologic Technologists State License for Iowa Must demonstrate/learn an understanding of cancer radiation biology radiation safety and protection Be highly motivated & team orientated Schedule: 32 hours per week 8a-4:30 M-F The schedule may fluctuate based upon needs of the department
