Our client in Paarl is in need of a Quality Control Managerto join our team in the wine industry. The successful candidate will ensure product quality compliance and continuous improvement across laboratory bottling food safety and quality management systems.
Duties & Responsibilities
Minimum Requirements:
BSc Chemistry BSc Food Science BTech Food Technology (wine focus) or BSc Oenology & Viticulture
23 years experience in a similar role
Experience with BRCGS/FSSC 22000 or relevant FSM systems
Laboratory and people management experience
Strong chemistry knowledge (wine industry advantageous)
Own transport Available to start ASAP
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee wine analysis lab management and method accuracy
Ensure compliance with BRCGS/FSSC standards audits and GMP
Manage bottling line quality checks and hygiene procedures
Coordinate label approvals (SAWIS Fairtrade EcoCert BeVeg)
Support health & safety committee and training initiatives
Assist with external audits and certifications
Skills & Attributes:
Strong analytical and organisational skills
Attention to detail & problem-solving mindset
Self-motivated proactive and able to work independently
Good interpersonal and communication skills
