For more information about the Department of Business Law see: Department of Business Law at California State University Northridge (CSUN) is seeking a tenure-track faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor. The successful candidate will teach business law and have research interests in those areas relevant to our programs.
In addition to teaching the position requires weekly office hours attending faculty meetings participation in the assessment of student learning and service to the department college and university. The successful candidate will be held to the standards and requirements of the college and department in which he/she/they is/are housed for recommending tenure and promotion. Given CSUNs commitment to excellence in teaching research and engagement in a diverse environment the successful candidate will help the department achieve equitable academic outcomes for all students through teaching student mentorship scholarship and service.

Responsibilities:
The position involves teaching both undergraduate- and graduate-level courses in business law and if qualified real estate supporting extra-curricular student engagement which may include overseeing student competitions. Faculty members are expected to employ a variety of teaching strategies to enable students to think analytically and to communicate effectively. Law courses are taught using the Socratic method with its goal of participatory learning and the development of reasoning skills. Additionally faculty members are expected to engage actively in research and publication in their areas of primary teaching responsibility maintaining the colleges Scholarly Academic qualification throughout their employment and provide service to the University and the community.
