Join Birmingham City Councils Payroll Services team and play a vital role in ensuring thousands of employees pensioners and members are paid accurately and on time. Were looking for a detail-driven professional to support the technical and operational delivery of payroll services working closely with internal teams and external partners like schools HR Operations DTS and HMRC. This is your opportunity to contribute to a high-performing customer-focused service that underpins the smooth running of one of the UKs largest local authorities.
In this role youll be hands-on with payroll administration managing everything from data input and job running to reconciliations and report distribution. Youll ensure compliance with statutory regulations and Council financial procedures while also supporting query resolution and self-service functionality for managers and staff. Your analytical skills will be key in producing complex reports and maintaining control totals all while contributing to continuous service improvement and supporting change initiatives.
Were seeking someone with experience in shared services payroll and pensions delivery who thrives on building strong relationships and managing operational queries with professionalism. Youll be confident using financial software to produce reports and policy documents and comfortable navigating politically sensitive issues. Your ability to work under pressure manage competing priorities and communicate effectively will be essential to your success.
