Grasslanz Technology Limited is a commercial subsidiary of the New Zealand Institute for Bioeconomy Science (BSI). Grasslanz is a specialist provider of plant and microbial technology and focuses on providing proprietary technologies for the primary sector. The company works with domestic and international investors commercial partners and research organisations to grow science opportunities into innovative new products that create value.
Grasslanz vision is to grow the value of plant and microbial solutions backed by science. Grasslanz is recognised globally as a premier source of grass endophytes and white clover and a world leader in the development of temperate forage cultivars. We reinvest royalty revenue into research and development primarily with the BSI to innovate and grow our product portfolio. The company has a turnover of approximately $12m per year with 16 employees across the Commercial team and the Seed Production Unit. Employees have expertise in seed production research project management intellectual property management contract management product development management and customer relationship management.

About the role:

Are you looking for an agronomy role thats more than business as usual At Grasslanz Technology we combine science and seed production to deliver plant and microbial innovations. Were looking for a Seed Production Agronomist to join our collaborative Lincoln-based team and play a key role in producing high-grade seed that underpins our global reputation.
This is a role where agronomy meets innovation. Youll work closely with leading scientists seed companies landowners and industry experts gaining exposure beyond what a typical agronomy role offers. From crop planning and husbandry to specialist seed production and client engagement youll be at the heart of connecting science with real-world farming outcomes.

What youll be doing:
- Leading agronomy oversight across nucleus and breeders seed crops and nurseries.
- Shaping crop plans rotations and isolations to deliver high-quality seed.
- Engaging directly with clients industry groups and landowners.
- Getting hands-on with specialist machinery seed harvest and cleaning.
- Helping drive innovation in seed production alongside a supportive team.

About you:
- A background in agriculture arable farming or agronomy (degree preferred).
- Strong crop management know-how especially in forage seed production.
- Practical experience with agrichemicals rotations irrigation or farm machinery.
- A proactive flexible team player who thrives on quality and innovation.
