Job Summary
Resideo is seeking a Mobile App Test Intern to join our development team and help ensure a high-quality user experience for our smart home mobile application. You will be responsible for executing test cases identifying bugs and verifying app functionality across iOS and Android platforms. This role is ideal for someone whos detail-oriented curious and eager to learn mobile app testing in a real-world environment.
The ideal candidate will reside in the greater Austin TX area to fulfill the requirements of this part-time role.
JOB DUTIES:
As a Mobile App Test Intern this is your opportunity to:
- Gain exciting real-world software experience at a thriving company.
- Work on a small team in a collaborative environment with seasoned software developers.
- Execute manual test cases for mobile applications on both iOS and Android devices.
- Test app functionality related to smart home devices (e.g. device onboarding connectivity automation notifications).
- Clearly document and report bugs.
- Perform regression testing to verify fixes and updates.
- Assist with setting up test environments including smart devices and mobile test labs.
- Provide feedback on usability performance and overall user experience.
YOU MUST HAVE:
- Currently enrolled in a STEM degree program related to Computer Science Engineering Information Technology or Mathematics
- Strong interest in mobile applications and technology
- Familiarity with iOS and/or Android mobile platforms
- Basic understanding of software testing concepts (test cases bugs regression testing)
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
WE VALUE:

- Experience testing smart home or IoT devices
- Exposure to bug-tracking tools (e.g. Jira)
- Knowledge of basic networking (Wi-Fi setup Bluetooth pairing)
- Familiarity with test automation frameworks (Appium)
