We are currently seeking skilled Marine Electricians for a potential 5-year project in Norfolk VA. This opportunity involves hands-on labor working at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard offering a dynamic and fast-paced environment for experienced professionals.
Note: This position is contingent upon contract award. Employment will begin only if and when the company secures the government contract associated with this role.
Overview:
Perform installation troubleshooting and repair of shipboard electrical systems on U.S. Navy vessels.
Responsibilities:
- Install and repair wiring panels and controls.
- Test and troubleshoot electrical systems with meters and analyzers
- Interpret blueprints schematics and technical manuals.
- Ensure compliance with electrical and safety standards.
OR
- Install and maintain temporary shipboard power sources.
- Set up lighting distribution panels and power outlets.
- Inspect and test temporary circuits for safety.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues.
Qualifications:
- Active DoD Secret clearance .
- High school diploma/GED; completion of a formal trade training program (trade school military training apprenticeship or equivalent) .
- 4 years as an electrician with at least 2 years on Navy ships
- Knowledge of NFPA 70E and shipyard electrical standards OR Knowledge of temporary power safety standards.
