We are setting up two new scrum teams (team-of-ten) in Budapest and looking for aDevelopment Managerfor one of the scrum teams forSAP Logistics Management (SAP LGM). With SAP LGM we are developing a cloud-native modular integrated network centric and AI driven end-to-end logistics suite solution on BTP including warehousing and transportation capabilities. As key pillar of our vision for an autonomous supply chain SAP LGM will be SAPs next generation best-in-class offering for logistics execution and targets to offer fully integrated real-time end-to-end visibility dynamic capacity management prescriptive decision-making proven automation and exception-based user interaction.

Key Responsibilities and Task

  • Team Management Coaching and Development
  • Set clear goals with team members inspire and support them towards accomplishing these goals and evaluate goal achievement in a fair and understandable way.
  • Set up and constantly improve a high performing engineering organization with high trust on all levels of roles and collaboration striving for best-in class engineering processes within the agile framework of SCRUM.
  • Be responsible for supporting the success of not only your direct reports but the success of all employees within the larger team you are a part of by helping to identify development opportunities and supporting team members to achieve their goals.
  • Actively acting as coach and mentor to help with personal development. Conducts deliverable reviews providing performance feedback while establishing a safe space for developers to effectively learn and grow.
  • Accountable for technical realization of the requirements within the capacity of the engineering team (team health) and also the quality of the deliverables.
  • Contribute to change management and drive engineering excellence and continuous improvement within the engineering team.
  • Clarify implementation approach and plan execution with the engineering team including also quality assurance.

Product Vision and Strategy

  • Connect product vision goals and user requirements to organizational goals and help team members with translation into relatable individual and team goals.
  • Partners with Product Management and User Experience to translate the overall outcome-based roadmap and vision into a product backlog and prioritization in a manner clearly understandable to the development team.

Product Development / Iteration / Sprint Planning & Execution

  • Perform at least 30% hands-on technical tasks and responsibilities in addition to team management coaching and development.
  • Ensure product requirements as well as non-functional requirements are built tested and maintained.
  • Own technical leadership and decide on how the product is implemented.
  • Be accountable for technical decisions within the engineering team.
  • Collaborate with Product Management on prioritization of the backlog.
  • Own the technology decisions and resource investments (framework/architecture/tooling etc.).
  • Ensure compliance of software development processes with relevant standards regulations and legal requirements.
  • Ensure clear definitions of ready and definitions of done are defined and adhered.
  • Manage 3rd party contractors and supplier management for engineering.
  • Drive attainment of product and service quality service-level agreements (SLAs) (e.g. prioritize and drive corrective and preventive actions via the development product backlog).
  • Define and align non-functional backlog items with Product Management.
  • Identify and address potential delivery risks that may impact the success of the product.
  • Assign tasks of ttend Agile Team ceremonies within the teamn attend them and review the execution.

Product Usage Support and Customer Satisfaction

  • Ensure supportability of the product e.g. telemetry performance health check monitoring and customer feedback channels.
  • Ensure service quality is continuously driven via e.g. root cause analysis and preventive actions.
  • Drive adherence to support metrics and ensures 24/7 support (e.g. Manager on Duty Developer on Duty role)

What you bring

  • Minimum of 10 years in a senior IT role (architect project lead team lead)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in program management or scrum master experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the Supply Chain area
  • Rich experience in cloud computing
  • Rich experience in integration topics
  • Hands on experience in cloud customer support and incident handling including root cause analysis (RCA)
  • Hyperscaler and Platform as a Service (PaaS) knowledge: Azure AWS GCP BTP Converge Cloud
  • Preferable technology knowledge: Java JavaScript HANA Fiori UI5 CDS
  • Rich experience in software development processes (Scrum Safe CI/CD)
  • Rich Public Cloud Logistics development experience
  • Experience in machine learning and AI; understanding in SAP AI strategy will be a plu
