Role Purpose:
To deliver high quality examinations services for British Council Global Exams Services (Professional Educational and Entrance exams) in North and Central China through effective exam administration management ensuring exam services are delivered in full compliance with all corporate standards and regulations set by examinations boards.
Main Accountabilities:
The British Council China is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our Examinations Services team as a Global Exams Services Officer. This role is vital to ensuring the high-quality delivery of examinations in full compliance with corporate and exam board standards. You will work closely with venue staff and the test centre team to coordinate seamless exam operations taking proactive steps to implement and maintain the British Councils Examinations Quality Compliance & Assurance standards. You will be responsible for managing confidential materials handling processes ensuring they align with compliance protocols.
In this role you will contribute to the development and continuous improvement of operational procedures and test administration practices. Your responsibilities will also include managing and organizing documentation developing templates and preparing exam-related administrative materials with 100% accuracy and in accordance with exam board requirements. You will professionally handle enquiries from customers ensuring an excellent service experience that meets British Council standards.
Financial responsibilities form part of this role including Purchase Order and Sales Order creation income reconciliation finance tracking and exam record management. You will support your line manager in financial monitoring activities to ensure full compliance with both statutory requirements and internal standards.
This position requires a strong commitment to safeguarding as it involves contact with children and requires all duties to be carried out in alignment with the British Councils policies on Child Protection Equality Diversity and Inclusion. Information management must adhere to our internal standards UK data protection principles and applicable local legislation.
To be successful in this role you will need a minimum of one year of administrative experience in environments demanding high attention to detail and strict deadline adherence. You should also demonstrate project management experience effective communication skills with children and their families and knowledge of international education qualifications and the exam market in China. Experience in managing international exams is highly desirable.
The role may occasionally require unsocial hours weekend work and travel within China for test delivery. These requirements will be managed in accordance with HR guidelines and work-life balance policies.

Qualification & Experience:
- Bachelors degree or above is required
- English at Proficiency Level B2 (Aptis B2 IELTS 6.0 or equivalent)
- Chinese at Proficiency Level C1 (HSK 5 or equivalent)
- Minimum one year of experience in administration that required high level of attention to details and meeting strict deadlines
- Demonstrable experience of project management
