THE ROLE


Helcim is searching for a Data Platform Developer to be responsible for building and maintaining our data platform that powers Helcim in its mission to become the worlds most loved payments company.


As a member of a diverse and collaborative team you will be building data products that allow all of Helcim to generate deep insights into our work and create the infrastructure that allows real-time modelling & monitoring of our data. Youll be working in a highly collaborative environment across multiple functions to design & develop scalable data assets & products.


Here are the things youll own day to day:

  • Design and implement end-to-end data pipelines to serve our business intelligence machine learning models and AI systems needs.
  • Ensure our data platform is matching our data governance needs such as data quality and metadata management
  • Maintain our existing self-hosted data platform infrastructure while ensuring optimal performance
  • Work closely with various teams on ensuring they have the tools to implement the business intelligence they need to perform their roles
  • Enable other Helcim members to interact and contribute to the data platform through training code reviewing and co-designing solutions.


A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE


Youre an experienced data professional who thrives on solving complex real-world business problems. You have a track record of building reliable & resilient solutions that enable business-impacting decisions.


Qualifications & Experience:

  • 2 years of experience as a data engineer or similar role
  • Experience working cross functionally to deploy data products into production


Key Competencies:

  • Demonstrated ability to engage with cross-functional and non-technical stakeholders to understand project objectives gather requirements and build data assets that solve needs across multiple domains.
  • Ability to design and implement assets that follow common architecture
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment prioritizing iterative technical solutions to solve complex problems.


Bonus points if you have:

  • Experience working with financial go-to-market and sensitive data will be a significant asset
  • Experience working with the programming languages of our analytics stack (SQL Python)
  • Experience with data warehousing technologies (we use BigQuery dbt Airflow Airbyte)
  • Experience with code driven infrastructure
  • Experience implementing data governance processes around data quality and metadata
