The Team
The Provincial Court of British Columbia strives to serve the public by providing an accessible fair efficient and innovative system of justice. Sitting at over 80 locations throughout the Province the Court hears criminal family youth and civil claims as well as traffic and municipal by-law matters. Most of the court cases in British Columbia are heard in Provincial Court where judges and judicial justices preside over more than 225000 cases each Judicial Services supports judges and judicial justices through administrative services and scheduling to facilitate fair timely and accessible justice for all British Columbians. The Courts administrative headquarters is located at the Office of the Chief Judge in downtown Vancouver.

The Role
Working as part of the Integrated Judicial Services team and reporting to the Manager Finance and Administration the Finance Clerk provides budget support and accounting services for the Provincial Court Judiciary.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Secondary School graduation or equivalent.
  • Minimum two years experience/training in a financial position such as accounts payable accounts receivable bookkeeping;
  • Experience/training in budgeting financial analysis spreadsheets data entry keyboarding word processing and other standard computer applications.
  • Experience with database applications.

Preference may be given to applications with the following:

  • Post-secondary degree/diploma/certification in accounting;
  • Knowledge of government financial and administrative policies and procedures;
  • Familiar with standard government systems such as CAS/Oracle and iProcurement.
