AOC Communications Coordinator
Department: Governance & Executive Operations
Location: Trondek Hwechin Offices Dawson YT

Standard Hours Bi-Weekly: Auxiliary On-Call
Start Date: Immediately
End Date: March 31 2026
Salary: Level 7 Step 1 ($45.47 hourly)
Closing Date: Ongoing
Under the direction of the Director of Communications and Policy this position is responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of communication strategies projects and tasks. The role may also support General Assemblies and other general meetings as directed by the Director of Communications and Policy.
An Eligibility List may be established from this competition the duration of the eligibility list may be up to 12 months. The eligibility list may be used to fill future permanent full-time permanent part-time temporary full-time temporary part-time term or auxiliary on-call vacancies within the same department and classification based on the organizational needs by going the next highest ranked candidate until the eligibility list expires.

Essential Qualifications:
- Post-secondary degree or related coursework in Public Policy Journalism Public Relations Communications or related discipline. An equivalent combination of education training skills and abilities may be considered.
- Demonstrated experience in undertaking research and preparing executive summaries.
- Demonstrated experience in general office management.
- Ability to utilize a computer and associated software specifically word-processing graphic-design and e-mail programs.
Assets:
- Experience in First Nations or government communications (asset).
- Good working knowledge of THs social structure culture and traditions.
- General knowledge of THs Land Claims Agreements self-government and implementation agreements and constitution.
Conditions of Employment:
- Class 5 Drivers License with clear drivers abstract.
- TH101 Cultural Awareness training.
