GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:

Pacific University seeks a motivated and enthusiastic Annual Giving Coordinator to support the development and execution of our student philanthropy programs including student clubs crowdfunding initiatives and the senior class gift program. This entry-level position will also provide general annual giving support assisting with fundraising campaigns giving days outreach efforts digital fundraising and donor call-downs. Additionally the position will involve working with emerging technologies including AI-assisted fundraising tools to enhance donor engagement and participation. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate individual interested in higher education philanthropy and eager to gain hands-on experience in the development and fundraising field particularly in the realm of digital and AI-assisted outreach.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Key Responsibilities:

Student Philanthropy Programs:

  • Manage and enhance the Senior Class Gift Program encouraging students to contribute and create a culture of giving among the graduating class.
  • Assist with the development and execution of student-driven fundraising efforts such as club donations and crowdfunding initiatives.
  • Collaborate with student organizations clubs and leadership groups to promote philanthropy and increase student engagement with the universitys giving programs.
  • Serve as a primary contact for student philanthropy groups fostering relationships with students and student leaders.
  • Incorporate student philanthropy into Boxer Giving Day

Annual Giving Support:

  • Assist with the organization and coordination of giving days ensuring seamless event execution and donor engagement.
  • Support digital fundraising efforts by helping to plan and create email campaigns social media outreach and other online initiatives.
  • Participate in call-down efforts to engage alumni parents and friends of the university securing gifts and encouraging involvement.
  • Assist in preparing and managing donor communications related to annual giving including thank-you letters and recognition

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:

  • General Development Support:
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of various fundraising campaigns and events.
  • Help track and report on program success compiling data and creating reports to measure effectiveness. Help with donor relations through responding to inquiries through phone and email communication.

JOB SCOPE:

May perform duties with no direction given operating from established directions and instructions. Decisions are made within general university policy constraints but require independent decision-making

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITY:

This position is asked to provide occasional supervision of student assistants.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field (e.g. communications marketing nonprofit management higher education).

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS ABILITIES & BEHAVIORS:

  • Strong interest in philanthropy and higher education development.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint) and general social media platforms (Facebook Instagram Twitter etc.).
  • Proficiency or willingness to learn with fundraising software database systems AI and other digital fundraising tools. 6. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with students faculty staff and external constituents.
  • Comfortable with fundraising tools and donor management software (e.g. Blackbaud Salesforce Almabase) or a willingness to learn.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • This position is based on Pacifics Forest Grove Campus but may require occasional travel to other campuses.
  • Office Environment. Some travel evening and weekend work required.

SALARY RANGE:

$45000 to $50000 Annually
