TECHNOLOGY INTERN

REPORTS TO:

Network Operations Director

REQUIRED RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB TASKS:

  1. Intern will be assigned to assist the technical staff with providing computer hardware software and network technical support to the ESU 7 staff and ESU 7 schools.
  2. Assist Technology Dept. with maintaining ESU workstations and lab computers setup update install and troubleshoot.
  3. Assist visitors in utilizing the ESU 7 network and equipment.
  4. Other duties as assigned.

TECHNOLOGY EXPECTATIONS:

  1. Must have awareness of general computer components desktop system software and application software.
  2. Demonstrate an awareness of industrys current and emerging technology trends and direction as well as a keen interest in computer-based information systems and technology.
  3. Must have the ability to research and understand technical documentation and an understanding of how to apply various technical resources.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  1. Applicant must possess a valid drivers license in good standing.
  2. Customer and Personal Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service. This includes customer needs assessment meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  3. English Language - Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words rules of composition and grammar.
  4. Clerical - Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing managing files and records designing forms and other office procedures and terminology.
  5. Mathematics Knowledge of arithmetic algebra geometry and their applications.
  6. Psychology Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability personality and interests.
  7. Oral/Written Comprehension - Listening to and understanding information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences or reading and understanding information and ideas presented in writing.

  26. Equipment Selection/Job Planning Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
  27. Ability to work with minimal supervision.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  1. Inside offices and throughout the ESU 7 campus and district buildings.
  1. Primary work area is air-conditioned but may travel to non air-conditioned buildings subject to extremes of temperature and humidity.
