Certified Medical Assistant
Community Memorial Hospital - Clinic
Full-Time; 40 hours a week - either 5x8 hours or 4x10 hours
Provide direct and indirect patient care for providers and others as necessary in the CMH Medical Clinic. Assists providers with daily tasks to provide timely and efficient patient care. Communicate clinical information with appropriate providers in a timely manner. Adheres to Community Memorial Hospitals performance expectations and performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the mission vision and values of Community Memorial Hospital. This position will be responsible for providing coverage in Family Medicine ENT GI Behavioral Health & other specialty services.

Responsibilities
- Assist provider/staff with obtaining basic vital information preparing patient for examination treatment and minor surgical procedures and obtaining complete medical history per protocols.
- Demonstrates competence in the skills necessary to carry out assigned duties.
- Act as a liaison with patients family and providers demonstrating smooth and efficient telephone communication
- Telephone triage by providing and documenting of illness/condition; follow-up phone calls regarding patients health and progress as necessary.
- Document care plans interventions and outcomes in the electronic health record (EHR) in a timely clear and accurate manner; along other documentation needs for continuation of care
- Perform other duties as requested by Clinic Administrator Clinic Lead and Clinical Coordinator to facilitate the smooth and effective operations of the office
Qualifications
Required:
- Certified Medical Assistant
- Graduate from an accredited Medical Assisting Program
- Must have a current license or certificate in the state of Iowa
- High school diploma or equivalent is required
- Understand the concepts principles and practices of a clinic setting
- Must be able to read write and speak English
