Job Summary
Job Summary
The skinning position sorts cattle mortalities following GMPs and removes the hide from cattle cuts cattle into pieces eviscerates and removes CMPAF material as needed using hoists lifts bobcats loaders saws shears and knives.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
Nothing in this job description restricts managements right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.
- Operate bobcats knives hoists and saws to process cattle mortalities.
- Sort cattle mortalities by age remove hides eviscerate split remove CMPAF material and grind cattle mortalities into processing sizes.
- Maintain good housekeeping before after and during each shift.
- Following all company policies and GMPs pertaining to the job requirements.
- Perform other job duties as directed by the Plant Manager or Assistant Plant Manager.
- Assures equipment and work area is clean after each shift.
- Maintains safety as top priority in accordance with all company safety rules and regulations.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Manufacturing industrial or agricultural experience preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Slaughter house experience a plus.
- Problem solving and time management skills.
- Willingness to work in a team concept and high level of reliability.
- Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with all levels of plant personnel.
- Shift work overtime and weekend work required.
Physical Demands
- Frequently required to walk stand sit climb balance stoop kneel crawl and crouch.
- Frequently must push pull move or lift up to 50 lbs.
- Regularly required reach with hands and arms.
Work Environment
Job functions will be carried out in a rendering facility which requires tolerance for wet and/or slippery floors and high heat and/or cold temperatures.
