Job Summary
As the Director of Leadership and Culture Development you will oversee transformative leadership programs foster a values-driven culture and enhance employee experiences. Reporting to the VP of Talent & Enterprise HR you will manage external partners to deliver leadership development drive cultural transformation and support engagement initiatives collaborating with HR and senior leadership to build a high-performing engaged workforce.
The Director of Leadership and Culture Development is a strategic leader responsible for overseeing leadership development programs through external partner management driving cultural transformation and enhancing employee experiences via onboarding team effectiveness and Employee Resource Groups (ERGs). The role manages vendors for leadership program delivery with limited internal facilitation collaborates on employee listening strategies leveraging the data to shape culture and strengthens the Employment Value Proposition (EVP). Collaborates with L&D on learning strategy and delivery however learning and development (e.g. L&D tech stack learning paths and business system training) is handled by L&D to ensure strategic focus and avoid overlap.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership Development Programs & Assessments:
Oversee the design and delivery of leadership development programs for emerging mid-level and senior leaders ensuring alignment with organizational goals and values.
Manage relationships with external partners (e.g. coaching providers assessment platforms) to ensure high-quality program delivery and strategic alignment with emphasis on vendor coordination for leadership programs.
Provide limited internal facilitation for key workshops or coaching sessions focusing on strategic oversight and partner coordination.
Manage assessments (e.g. 360-degree feedback Hogan SHL) for leadership development and succession planning analyzing data to address capability gaps.
Cultural Transformation:
Lead culture initiatives to embed company values into daily operations.
Oversee ERG strategies and tactical oversight coaching ERG leaders and coordinating with executive sponsors expanding membership and aligning with talent management to enhance business impact.
Guide organizational change to foster a high-performing inclusive culture collaborating with HR teams to support enterprise-wide initiatives.
Employee Experience & Team Effectiveness:
Drive cross-functional collaboration to integrate leadership culture and engagement initiatives into business operations.
Partner with HR communications marketing and Talent Acquisition to align employee and candidate experiences with EVP and organizational goals.
Design standardized onboarding and offboarding processes to reinforce EVP culture and values across employee touchpoints.
Develop new leader assimilation best practices and process to embed cultural values and leadership competencies from day one.
Enhance employer brand through initiatives aligned with organizational objectives.
Implement frameworks like the Rocket Model to improve team dynamics and performance aligning with organizational goals.
Partner with HR teams to leverage employee listening strategies (e.g. Glint surveys) and support enterprise-wide engagement programs using insights to inform culture and leadership initiatives.
Data Analysis & Strategic Reporting:
Analyze people data (e.g. assessments engagement metrics) to guide culture leadership and other strategies and conduct risk mitigating challenges proactively.
Prepare & deliver executive presentations with actionable insights for senior leadership.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelors degree in HR Organizational Psychology Business Administration or related field. Masters degree or certifications preferred.
Experience:
8-12 years in HR with 5 years in leadership development organizational development or culture transformation roles. HRBP experience preferred.
Proven track record designing and delivering leadership programs in a global matrixed organization.
Experience with assessments (e.g. 360-degree feedback psychometric tools) and supporting change initiatives.
Skills:
Strategic thinking to align leadership and culture with organizational goals.
Strong vendor management and partner coordination skills as well as capable facilitation skills
Exceptional communication and presentation skills for executive audiences.
Familiarity with psychometric assessments LMS and employee listening tools.
Data literacy to analyze engagement and assessment data.
Change management expertise to support cultural transformation.
Cultural competence.
Other: Ability to collaborate globally and influence senior stakeholders.
Desired Qualifications
Experience in manufacturing marine or industrial sectors with understanding of operational leadership needs.
Prior consulting or large-scale culture/leadership transformation experience with emphasis on managing external partners and/or complex programs.
