Job Description

TheRunnerposition exists for the purpose of completing errands and travel needed for non-technical or limited technical tasks in the Service Department as well as contributing to the completion of physical labor both at the ITS office and on-site at client locations as necessary. The Runner is very much a master of all trades position which requires significant flexibility and willingness to take on different tasks assigned by most members of the Service Department staff.

Job Responsibilities

Procedural

  • Travel as needed to the UPS Store office used by ITS collect all mail and return it to the ITS office for processing and handling.
  • Travel to and from client locations as requested by Service to pick up drop off and connect client equipment including workstations network devices and other equipment as needed.
  • Set up workstations and basic network devices on a client network and contact ITS technicians to confirm equipment is accessible from the office as needed.
  • Replace basic field serviceable equipment within a workstation or device such as a graphics card or hard drive.
  • Go to on-site suppliers in the area to pick up any parts or equipment needed by Service on an emergency basis.
  • Maintain trust and security in use of a corporate credit card for company purchases and properly record document and submit for approval all expenses charged to such card.

Technical

A Runner is expected to be able to complete the following technical tasks with little or no assistance:

  • Set up a workstation including peripherals.
  • Physically connect a device to the network and verify it is online.
  • Replace field-serviceable parts within a computer.

Job Qualifications

  • Willing to work full-time on-site either at the company office or client locations as required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (some technical training preferred).
  • 1 year experience in support courier or entry-level IT role.
  • Basic skills in computer setup hardware replacement and network connectivity.
  • Ability to lift and transport equipment (up to 50 lbs).
  • Organized detail-oriented and trustworthy in handling purchases and equipment.
  • Strong communication customer service and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexible and willing to handle varied tasks both errands and technical.
  • Valid drivers license vehicle insurance and access to a vehicle for client visits.

Compensation

Pay rate ranges from$15.00/hour up to $18.00/hourand may vary by experience and location.
