Job Summary

Overview

Do you have clinical skills and/or training but need a break from direct service Quality team at the Department of Mental Health is hiring! We are a small but mighty team of five with oversight of community mental health centers and inpatient psychiatric units in the state. We have a mix of long-term projects on planned timelines and processing of information ad hoc such as grievances and critical incident reports. We value the mindset that individuals our work and broader systems are currently strong and have the capacity to improve. We are seeking an individual who wants to do a mix of self-directed and team-based work. This will involve leading our clinical chart review process so a Masters in a Mental Health field is required and a license is preferred. Travel quarterly to various locations in the state may be expected.

AHS BACKGROUND CHECKS: Candidates must pass any level of background investigation applicable to the accordance with AHS Policy 4.02 Hiring Standards Vermont and/or national criminal record checks as well as DMV and adult and child abuse registry checks as appropriate to the position under recruitment will be conducted on candidates with the exception of those who are current classified state employees seeking transfer promotion or demotion into an AHS classified position or are persons exercising re-employment (RIF) rights.

Environmental Factors

Work is performed both in a standard office setting and in the field for which private means of transportation should be available. Incumbents are subject to a variety of stressful situations while evaluating and improving support services for people with lived experience. Work also involves regular interaction with providers and departmental leadership. Some work outside of normal office hours may be required.

Minimum Qualifications

Masters degree or higher in Social Work Psychology Counseling or a closely related field AND three (3) years or more of professional level experience in a Clinical Social Work Psychology or Counseling program.

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with two (2) years or more of clinical program experience with people with severe mental illness are preferred.
