Job Description

VICE PRESIDENT OF TECHNOLOGY
GENERAL SUMMARY

Etherio is seeking a dynamic hands-on VP of Technology to lead our corporate technology initiatives and client-facing technology services team. You will fill a critical role in enabling internal and external innovation driving the next phase of our AI and data capabilities strengthening our internal technology operations and supporting growth in technology service delivery for our corporate event and association clients. This is an exciting opportunity for a collaborative highly communicative leader with a track record in event technology environments and the vision and experience to leverage cost-effective solutions to benefit our clients and our growing team of approximately 200 Etherio team members.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Corporate Technology Management
  • Lead Etherios technology strategy and execution including build/buy decisions project scoping and delivery of corporate technology projects.
  • Provide executive oversight and hands-on leadership for the companys technology stack including API management change management implementation of new features and functionality engaging external resources when necessary.
  • Manage and optimize the partnership with our managed IT services provider.
  • Advance AI enablement across the organization building on current GPT use and leading the deployment of new automations and agentic solutions.
  • Spearhead the identification implementation and management of BI/analytics tools to drive actionable insights for clients and Etherios own business.
  • Develop and implement new processes for the centralization of software procurement and management.
  • Lead the development of documentation and training to empower our team in fully and effectively leveraging our corporate applications.
  • Lead resource planning budget development/management and technology investment decisions.
Client Consultation and Service Delivery
  • Partner closely with Etherios business development team providing solution identification technical expertise and pricing input and also participating in sales presentations.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor for Etherios clients in the selection of event technology and the variety of applications that support the business operations of our association clients.
  • Guide internal teams and clients in the identification and negotiation of event internet and other underlying technology service requirements.
  • Lead Etherios team of technology solution specialists driving team development performance excellence and collaboration in the delivery of:
    • Event technology solution configuration integrations and onsite support including registration platforms mobile apps and other technology-enabled services
    • Implementation and integration support and high-level troubleshooting for SaaS applications used by Etherios association clients
    • Domain management
    • Custom development projects
  • Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with technology providers.
MINIMUM AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Required
  • Proven leadership experience in a corporate technology leadership or senior management role ideally within a company of 150500 employees
  • Demonstrated success managing teams and vendors
  • Experience with and passion for client service delivery
  • Experience managing SaaS selection implementation and integrations
  • Expertise in event technology solutions (like Cvent or Stova) mobile app platforms and other non-A/V event-related technologies
  • Strong knowledge of analytics and BI platform deployment with a passion for leveraging data insights and AI-driven solutions
  • Hands-on collaborative leadership style with the ability and willingness to directly contribute where needed
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills able to clearly convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Natural propensity for understanding and aligning solutions to budgets and needs
  • Curiosity and desire for continual growth and learning
Preferred
  • Certifications: PMP ITIL Foundation Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert relevant AI certifications
  • Experience supporting business development sales enablement and client-facing technology consulting
  • Experience with event technology platforms including Stova or Cvent
  • Coding skills in programming languages such as (preferred) C# or PHP for developing and customizing platform integrations.
  • Experience implementing and/or managing AI-driven analytics platforms (Power BI Tableau etc.)
  • Experience integrating technology solutions and platforms using custom coding solutions (ie REST API).
  • Familiarity with database management (SQL) for maintaining extracting and optimizing data within systems.
  • Experience with enterprise SaaS stacks: NetSuite Suite Project Pro HubSpot Office 365 and related integrations
  • Vendor management experience with managed IT service providers
  • Exposure to database management association management systems learning management systems and other association software a plus

WORKPLACE LOCATION REQUIREMENTS
Hybrid role based in the Atlanta metro area (three days in office per week).

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Travel for client events (approximately once per month) as required.

SCHEDULING REQUIREMENTS
Requires flexibility in scheduling such as the ability to work evenings and weekends to meet client event or company needs.

  • Frequently moves inside the office to access filing cabinets office machinery etc.
  • Need to adapt and function in various physical settings (for example conference centers indoor and outdoor spaces).
  • Occasionally required to position self in a stooping kneeling or crouching manner.
  • Frequently communicates with others and must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • Frequently uses computers and other electronic equipment.
