Powers Catholic High School Flint Michigan is accepting resumes for an English Teacher
Position Summary:
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Gospel Values: Model Christ-centered values and participate in parish and school life.
- Instructional Excellence: Plan and deliver engaging evidence-based lessons in English Language Arts that align with diocesan and school curriculum standards.
- Student Engagement: Foster a classroom environment that promotes inquiry creativity and respect.
- Assessment & Feedback: Evaluate student progress using effective assessment tools and provide timely constructive feedback.
- Classroom Management: Maintain an orderly disciplined and supportive learning environment.
- Collaboration: Work cooperatively with colleagues administration and families to support student success.
- Professional Conduct: Uphold school policies maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism in all aspects of the role.
- Additional Duties: Perform other responsibilities as assigned by administration.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities Required:
- Hold a valid State of Michigan Secondary Teaching Certificate with English (BA/BX) endorsement
- Preferably hold an additional subject endorsement
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Relate positively with students parents and colleagues
- Collaborate effectively with other professionals
- Plan and deliver high-quality evidence-based instruction
- Maintain a structured and respectful classroom environment
- Be willing to fulfill additional duties as assigned
