Job Description

Were looking for a GIS Expert to support the development and maintenance of the ASAP system (Anomaly hotSpots of Agricultural Production) a key initiative led by the Joint Research Centre (JRC). This role is fully remote within Europe working closely with international technical teams and partner institutions.

Tasks

  • Develop test and maintain geospatial modules within the ASAP system.
  • Configure and deploy ASAP systems for partner institutions.
  • Design and manage local spatial information systems.
  • Ensure interoperability across ASAP platforms.
  • Provide GIS-related technical support to JRC experts.
  • Coordinate updates and maintenance of the ASAP geospatial database.

Requirements

Education:

  • Masters degree (EQF Level 7) with at least 5 years of formal education.
  • Minimum 7 years of professional experience in GIS with proven autonomy in complex projects.
  • Geospatial analysis of raster and vector data.
  • Python-based geospatial data processing.
  • Experience with spatial databases (PostgreSQL PostGIS).
  • Map publishing using Geoserver.
  • Fluent English (minimum B2 level).

Benefits
