Were looking for a GIS Expert to support the development and maintenance of the ASAP system (Anomaly hotSpots of Agricultural Production) a key initiative led by the Joint Research Centre (JRC). This role is fully remote within Europe working closely with international technical teams and partner institutions.
Tasks
- Develop test and maintain geospatial modules within the ASAP system.
- Configure and deploy ASAP systems for partner institutions.
- Design and manage local spatial information systems.
- Ensure interoperability across ASAP platforms.
- Provide GIS-related technical support to JRC experts.
- Coordinate updates and maintenance of the ASAP geospatial database.
Requirements
Education:
- Masters degree (EQF Level 7) with at least 5 years of formal education.
- Minimum 7 years of professional experience in GIS with proven autonomy in complex projects.
- Geospatial analysis of raster and vector data.
- Python-based geospatial data processing.
- Experience with spatial databases (PostgreSQL PostGIS).
- Map publishing using Geoserver.
- Fluent English (minimum B2 level).
