Position Summary
The Tax Manager will play a strategic leadership role overseeing tax preparation and planning for individual and business clients supervising and mentoring the tax team and working directly with firm leadership on client advisory and process improvement. This role offers the chance to contribute beyond tax compliance shaping workflows managing client relationships and supporting the growth of the firm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and sign off on tax returns for individuals and businesses; prepare select complex returns

  • Lead tax planning conversations with clients before year-end and throughout the year

  • Supervise coach and evaluate team members; oversee workloads and scheduling

  • Manage review workflows and streamline digital files and processes

  • Represent clients in IRS correspondence and examination situations

  • Participate in mentoring performance reviews and firm-wide initiatives to improve efficiency and client service

Required Qualifications

  • CPA designation required (EA not accepted)

  • Minimum 8 years of experience working in a public accounting firm (private/corporate-only backgrounds will not be considered)

  • Extensive experience in direct client contact client advisory and relationship management

  • Proven experience supervising reviewing and managing tax staff and workloads

  • Must live within 30 minutes of the firms Bethlehem PA office

  • Ability to commit to 100% in-office work January through April; hybrid schedule available the remainder of the year (up to 40% remote)

  • Strong tax research communication and time management skills

  • Proficiency with modern accounting and tax software systems
