Veterans Engineering (VE) is seeking experienced RNs for the Labor Delivery Recovery Postpartum (LDRP) unit at St. Davids Georgetown Hospital. The facility serves the Georgetown community with a family-centered approach and provides a high standard of care in mother-baby services.
Unit Details:
Beds: 23 (12 labor 11 postpartum)
Staff: 59 RNs and support personnel
Patient Ratios: 1:2 in labor (unless high-risk); 1:4 couplets on postpartum (max)
Equipment: Alaris Pumps Giraffe Warmers GE Fetal Monitors PCs in rooms US/TOCO Cords Monica Wireless Monitoring Giraffe Isolette
EMR: GE Centricity/CPN & Meditech
Shift Coverage:
Night shift 7:00 PM 7:00 AM 13-week assignment
Rotating weekends and call per schedule (roughly every other weekend)
Provide direct care for laboring mothers postpartum patients and newborns.
Perform LDRP duties including:
Cervical ripening induction of labor (Pitocin) magnesium sulfate insulin drips
Management of high-risk maternal patients in collaboration with Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialists
Postpartum and mother-baby care
Infant care in Special Care Nursery (SCN) and NICU support
Assisting with C-sections tubal ligations cerclage removals
Care of fetal demise patients
Utilize EMR systems for documentation and patient management
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe patient-centered care
Maintain compliance with hospital policies and safety regulations
RN with current license in Texas
Labor or Postpartum experience within the last year
BLS ACLS NRP certifications required
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
LDRP experience (mother/baby postpartum OR circulator well-baby nursery NICU or SCN)
NICU or transitional care experience
Experience with maternal-fetal medicine collaboration
Positive and friendly attitude
Proactive and adaptable
Team-oriented and respectful of unit culture
Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs with stork emblem recommended; pink badge.
