Job Summary

Responsibilities:

Plans three (3) well-balanced meals and two (2) snacks for each client daily.

Prepares nutritious balanced menus in accordance with USDA Standards when required. Oversees and orders supplies for preparation of meals staying within the departments budget.

Maintains production records and meal counts according to training and standards.

Maintains cleanliness of kitchen and food supplies in accordance with USDA and infection control standards.

Responsible for training scheduling and supervising food service workers.

Maintains employee records as necessary.

Understands role with clients and does not participate in activities that are not designated by Supervisor or demonstrate partiality to any client in any way.

Ensures that supervisors and behavioral instructors are aware of any changes in work schedule or menu selections and/or times

Maintains all food safety regulations for clients.

Uses designated forms/checklists to ensure that work areas are maintained according to infection control and agency expectations

May be required to work weekends and/or over 8 hours a day in order to train employees or cover mealtimes when employees are not available

Checks e-mail daily and responds to inquiries and suggestions from supervisors and/or designees.

Performs nutritional assessments as needed per nursing screen.

Consults with MBH Dietician or other qualified dietician as needed to develop specialized diets for clients with special dietary needs.

Performs Consults as ordered by the physician.

Maintains required hours of continuing education per licensing period.

Performs staff evaluations.

Performs other related duties as assigned by the MCH Administrator or other applicable personnel.

Qualifications:

Requires Dietary Manager Certification.

At least twenty-one (21) years of age and has a high school diploma or the equivalent. (Experience ability to write legibly and understanding of serving sizes and nutrition may be substituted for education).

Experience in purchasing preparation and maintenance of food services.

Experience in completing nutritional assessments and consults preferred.

Ability as a self-motivator and the aptitude to work in a high stress fast paced position with a minimal amount of supervision.

Must be able to accept and implement feedback from supervisor(s).

Ability to document accurately and professionally

Must be physically capable of receiving verbal and written directions

Must be physically able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time

Must be willing and able to work with all patients of Methodist Family Health regardless of gender

Must have good auditory visual and olfactory ability

Requires the ability to sit and stand for long periods of time and intermittently walk stand stoop kneel crouch and reach with hands and arms

Use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects tools or controls

Must be able to maintain effective audio visual discrimination and perception needed for making observations communicating with others reading and writing and operating office equipment and other treatment equipment

Must be able to use a telephone to communicate verbally and a computer to communicate through written means to review information and enter/retrieve data to see and read characters on a computer screen chart or other treatment items

Flu vaccination is mandatory and required for all positions (subject only to qualified exemptions).

Pursuant to the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Act 593 this position is a designated safety-sensitive position according to MFH/MCH/MBH standards and processes

Level One - Full Access: Ongoing regular access to PHI of all forms while the employee is on duty and performing within the scope of his or her job as defined by the employees job description and Policy and Procedure. Such access must be for cause consistent with job responsibilities and related to patients claims audits reviews and other legitimate business purposes. (e.g. Physicians nurses and other clinicians)
