What You Will Do

The Program Student Advisor- Online Student Success plays a vital role in supporting the success engagement and retention of students enrolled in online programs through the Office of Online Services and Educational Outreach (OSEO). This position provides proactive equity-minded guidance throughout the student journeyfrom onboarding through degree completionensuring a high-quality inclusive experience. The Program Advisor- Online Student Success serves as a key connector between students and institutional resources with a special focus on fostering persistence building community and removing barriers to student success. This person does their best to answer student questions or connect the student appropriately in the areas of but not limited to financial aid study support advising etc. This role is primarily remote but the selected candidate should expect to travel to SIUE locations in Edwardsville Alton Belleville and East St. Louis. On site work is typically no more than 25% of the overall position.

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications

Bachelors degree required.
Minimum of 23 years of experience in student services advising or coaching preferably in an online or adult learner environment.
Demonstrated commitment to equity inclusion and student-centered service.
Strong organizational communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience using CRM systems student information systems (e.g. Banner) LMS platforms and data dashboards (e.g. Argos).
Ability to work collaboratively across departments and build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Knowledge of best practices in online education retention and student development theory.
Ability to travel between campuses of Alton East St. Louis Belleville and Edwardsville as needed by unit.


Preferred Qualifications
Masters degree in Higher Education Student Affairs Counseling or related field strongly preferred.
