We are currently seeking a Medical Assistant Extern for Meridian Health Pediatrics located in Muncie Delaware County Indiana.
This externship will provide the candidate with the following learning opportunities:
- Answering phone calls
- Greeting clients
- Updating patient information
- Filling out insurance paperwork and prior approvals
- Helping the provider to complete arrangements for referrals admissions and laboratory referrals.
Clinical duties include:
- Taking vitals and weight
- Giving injections
- Assist providers
- Pass medications
- Screen provider phone calls and assist with problem calls
- Give TB tests for new employees
- Medication passes including patient assistance meds
- Train to cover other MAs and their duties
- Dispose of contaminated supplies
- Fax and phoning in of patient medications to other pharmacies
- Maintain confidentiality and use good judgment within the limits of the CMA guidelines and follow department policies and procedures
Qualifications:
- Must be currently enrolled in an Accredited Medical Assisting Program requiring an externship
Drug screen TB test extensive background check and fingerprinting are required of all Meridian employees.
