Welcome toMicrobial Physiology
In Microbial Physiology we are responsible for the in-depth characterization of our microbial biosolutions applied within different Novonesis businesses from Food & Beverages to Planetary Health. We make use of state-of-the-art microbiology methods and technologies to generate and apply knowledge on modes-of-action modes-of-interaction and on best conditions for growth and performance of microbial strains and cultures.
We are a team of highly engaged multicultural scientists and technicians based in Hrsholm with a passion for microbiology and microbial biosolutions. The nature of our work allows us to collaborate with multiple stakeholders across the value chain from early development (guiding strain screening and development) to process development application teams and quality.
In this role youll make an impact by:
Understanding the mechanisms behind microbial interactions within our microbial cultures.
Exploring and developing new concepts to design microbial communities with a focus on Dairy and other Food & Beverages biosolutions.
Investigating combined microbe-enzyme biosolutions.
Implementing and applying new technologies to investigate microbial interactions.
You will work closely with colleagues including scientists and lab technicians within the Microbial Physiology team and other departments in R&D and Applied R&D ensuring effective communication and collaboration throughout your projects.
Relevant experience:
PhD in Applied Microbiology Biotechnology Food Science/Technology or related fields and related scientific track record.
Expertise in microbiology microbial physiology and microbial interactions.
Skills in experimental planning and analysis of complex datasets.
Drive for implementation of new technologies and/or automation.
Knowledge in microbial community design applied to fermented food products.
Expertise in dairy science.
Additionally we expect you to demonstrate strong communication skills a collaborative mindset and enjoy working in cross-departmental projects.
