Job Description
Chickering Elementary School seeks a Long-Term Substitute Grade 1 Teacher (November 17 2025-December 23 2025)We seek a certified elementary educator who values and respects children and who is a strong collaborator independent thinker and reflective practitioner. The teacher is expected to teach the Grade 1 curriculum refine instructional plans to address student needs and design individual and small group interventions and inclusion of students with special education and ELL addition the teacher will maintain a classroom community predicated on mutual respect positive relationships and effective motivation and management for learning. A successful candidate will have a degree in education Massachusetts licensure in elementary education SEI endorsement and experience implementing the readers/writers workshop model and an inquiry-based approach to science. Additional responsibilities include communication with families participation in faculty and grade level team meetings completion of report cards and conducting parent/guardian conferences. Qualifications: -Current elementary 1-6 licensure or PreK-2 licensure.-Knowledge of elementary pedagogy and best practices. -Effective classroom management skills. -Organizational skills Strong oral and written communication skills.-Ability to form positive relationships and convey a sense of caring and respect for others.
