POSITION OBJECTIVE:
The position of Coordinator Welcome Center is for the purpose of providing coordination administrative and logistical managerial support for the Welcome Center.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: (These duties are a representative sample; position assignments may vary.)
Serves in lead role for providing coordination administrative and logistical support for the Welcome Center
Creates a sense of belonging for families students and staff within the Welcome Center
May act as a bridge between families and district departments ensuring effective and welcoming communication
Sets work assignments for other support staff in the Welcome Center
Provides direct or indirect administrative support to the Family Engagement Specialists and McKinney Vento and Foster Care Coordinators
Serves as liaison for the Welcome Center interacting with schools departments and the general public
Monitors and tracks budgets as required for the Welcome Center and identified projects
May serve as project facilitator or leader as designated by the Director of the Welcome Center and Community Engagement
Coordinates and tracks data related to projects and programs assigned by the Director of Equity interdependently and in collaboration with other BSD departments
Provides training and oversight to administrative support staff regarding confidential and sensitive student and staff information related to the position
Works collaboratively with schools and other departments in support of the Strategic Plan
Communicates directly with families and other district staff related to the duties of the position serving as an ambassador for the District
Prepares materials for required reports including presentations and documents for reports to District and community leaders
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Reports directly to and is supervised by the Director of the Welcome Center and Community Engagement
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (positions in this class typically require):
Required
Associates Degree or equivalent in a professionally related field
Two years District family engagement and/or administrative support experience
Experience managing projects and tracking budgets
Preferred
Bachelors degree or equivalent in a professionally related field
Previous district and school experience in administrative support roles
Supervisory or equivalent experience
Bilingual or multilingual
Allowable Substitutions
Non-school experience may be substituted for school or district experience

Knowledge of customer service principles
Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations relating to enrollment policies and procedures.
Demonstrates a general understanding of the Strategic Plan as an area of focus for the District
Understands basic financial and administrative procedures related to the position
Ability to self-manage time and work priorities with little or no supervision
Ability to work through conflict situations
SKILLS (position requirements at entry):
Possesses effective oral and written communication skills including those required for the preparation of documents and presentations
Demonstrates strong skills in writing grammar and punctuation
Ability to work through conflict situations and deescalate
Possesses skills in various computer software applications such as Microsoft Office 365 Synergy and others required for the position
Works collaboratively as a member of the Welcome Center team
Demonstrates multicultural sensitivity with the ability to effectively and collaboratively work with diverse populations
Ability to perform all duties in accordance with all applicable Board policies and district and legal requirements
Ability to meet and maintain punctuality and attendance expectations
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
CTSA Pay Grade5 $81834 to $86141 (startingwage is $ 81834 annual salary) 40 hours per week for a 260-day annual assignment. This position is exempt.
Medical dental vision long-term disability and life-insurance eligibility is based upon 630 hours worked within a school year. Retirement provided through Washington State Department of Retirement benefits include vacation and paid holidays.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Positions in this class typically require: stooping kneeling crouching reaching standing walking pushing pulling lifting finger dexterity grasping talking hearing seeing and repetitive motions.
Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift carry push pull or otherwise move objects including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts odors chemicals extreme temperatures inadequate lighting workspace restrictions and intense noises.
