Job Summary

Were casting sideshow-style specialty performerssingers jugglers variety/vaudeville acts novelty musicians character comics and compresto animate the midway and sideshow stage of Festival Fright Nights at the historic Winchester Mystery House. Your polished period-inspired act (1920s vibe encouraged) will engage guests between attractions create photo-worthy moments and elevate the shows narrative atmosphere all night long.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver a polished live act 35 minutes (or comparable roving micro-sets) appropriate for outdoor festival conditions and mixed-age audiences.
  
• Sustain character and theme within the Festival Fright Nights world (1924 Halloween masquerade/sance/carnival motifs).
  
• Rove and interact safely and professionally with guests; encourage call-and-response sing-alongs or quick bits to build hype and throughput.
  
• Hit cues and set timing in coordination with stage management and audio staff; adapt set length for crowd/queue needs.
  
• Protect show safety: maintain clear sightlines manage set boundaries and follow all risk-mitigation protocols for props/effects.
  
• Care for show assets (costume/props/mics) and uphold backstage etiquette; assist with minor resets between sets as needed.
  

Take direction and notes from Performance/Stage Management to continuously refine the act and guest experience.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated professional live performance experience (haunted attractions theme parks festivals cruises theater street/variety arts or cabaret).
  
• Period-appropriate style (1920s/vaudeville) or ability to adapt your look/banter to theme.
  
• Strong crowd work and family-appropriate improvisation.
  
• Reliable stamina for repeated sets outdoor conditions and high-energy nights.
  
• Punctual coachable collaborativecomfortable taking notes and adjusting in real time.

Physical & Scheduling Requirements

• Perform on your feet for extended periods; lift/carry up to 25 lbs of personal props.
  
• Comfortable working nights weekends and Halloween-peak dates (SeptNov); additional rehearsals and media hits as scheduled.
  
• Outdoor/variable environments (cool nights fog/haze moderate sound levels).
