Open Position: Investment Technology Developer Co-Op
Job Description:
Income Research Management seeks an enthusiastic team-oriented individual to join the Investment Technology team. They will work on highly engaging projects with Software Engineers Business Analysts Portfolio Managers Traders and Portfolio Analysts. Theyll need technical and finance knowledge to help us solve challenges relating to portfolio optimization and construction risk monitoring and trade generation. The role requires an understanding of fixed income markets bond analytics and portfolio construction. The successful candidate will be a results-oriented self-starter with an eye toward detail. This highly visible role will report directly to the Head of Investment Technology.
Summary of essential job functions
Assist in development of portfolio construction models in conjunction with the Investment Team.
Build data acquisition and transformation pipelines to be used as source data for the models.
Work both under the guidance of Architects and with teams on projects that aim to move the firm forward.
Drive the firms data science platform and user group forward.
Documentation of required project artifacts.
Participate in project responsibilities such as design review process analysis gap analysis functional design unit testing and execution.
Requirements
Understanding of fixed income instruments and mechanics portfolio construction methodologies and the workflow of investment functions.
Experience using Python and related data science packages.
Experience assembling data and storing in relational data stores.
Experience using statistical model concepts to forecast outcomes and extract insights.
Exceptional communication skills verbal and written to explain findings and seek feedback.
Results oriented strives to achieve elevated levels of individual and organizational performance.
Must be a self-starter self-motivated with solid soft skills able to work independently and understand when to ask for help
Solid analytical capabilities strong problem solving and documentation skills.
Ability to organize work on and manage multiple priorities understanding the strategy and lean towards delivery.
Bachelors degree or work equivalent.
Previous work experience in a corporate setting is a plus.
Educational Requirements
Currently pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree
Expected graduation date: December 2026 or May 2027
Relevant internship experience preferred
Seeking a second Co-Op opportunity starting June 2026
