Our client a well-established organization in the legal sectorwith over 30 years in business is seeking an Administration & Accounting Manager to join their team in Halifax. This role offers a close-knit family-oriented work environment where employees are genuinely valued and supported.

Key Responsibilities for the Job:
- Manage internal accounting functions including payroll payables receivables and trust accounts
- Oversee monthly reconciliations in collaboration with an external accounting firm (monthly and annual reconciliations and audits)
- Ensure compliance with trust account regulations and maintain accurate financial records
- Oversee staffing onboarding performance management and vacation scheduling
- Support a positive workplace culture and foster strong communication across the team
- Manage the overall flow of office operations to ensure efficiency and alignment with firm goals
Experience & Attributes for Success:
- Strong hands-on experience and proven organizational skills in a versatile and busy work environment
- 5 years experience in office management bookkeeping and human resources
- Prior experience within a legal environment and knowledge of trust account management is considered a strong asset
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite and adaptability to learn new software
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities
- Approachable and collaborative fostering a supportive team culture
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and compliance
- Proactive and resourceful able to anticipate needs and solve problems
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal
- Dependable and trustworthy especially in managing confidential information
