We are actively recruiting a Cross Border Tax Manager to join our tax practice preferably located in Vancouver or Toronto.
Our ideal candidate is dedicated to a long-term career in taxation and eager to take a proactive role in managing complex tax engagements while contributing to both the firms growth and our clients success.
Our tax practice encompasses a diverse range of areas including estate and trust compliance personal and corporate tax planning transactional advisory for the purchase and sale of private businesses estate planning and cross-border investment compliance. We welcome candidates with experience in any of these domains.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Tax Partners and senior staff on business tax compliance tax provisions and advisory engagements.
- Oversee and coordinate tax planning and compliance services for individuals with US and Canadian income or estate tax requirements.
- Manage engagement risk and financial performance focusing on billing collections and project budgets.
- Review tax assessments and handle correspondence with the IRS state authorities and CRA regarding various matters.
- Develop and maintain senior-level client relationships ensuring the delivery of high-quality tax services and strategic advice.
- Mentor and coach junior staff fostering their professional development and enhancing their understanding of tax issues.
- Identify opportunities for enhanced client service.
Qualifications:
- A valid US and/or Canadian Professional Accounting Designation (CPA).
- At least 5 years of relevant work experience in taxation.
- A comprehensive knowledge of the Canada-US Tax Treaty.
- Completion of the In-Depth Tax Program or a Masters of Tax Program.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
- Strong leadership capabilities with a focus on coaching and developing team members.
- Proficiency in CaseWare TaxPrep TaxFind CCH IntelliConnect and Microsoft Office Suite.
