In this position...

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Failure Mode Avoidance (FMA) Process Engineer to join our this critical role you will be instrumental in the implementation and continuous improvement of our FMA processes across various vehicle systems and componentsand will be directly involved in large projects that significantly impact how the company operates and performs FMA. You will work closely with cross-functional teams in design manufacturing and quality to proactively identify analyze and mitigate potential failure modes directly contributing to the highest levels of product reliability and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities

What youll be able to do

  • Participate in the development implementation and maintenance of FMA processes and methodologies including DFMEAs (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) boundary diagrams P-diagrams RCLs and Interface Tables.
  • Contribute to and participate in FMA workshops and reviews with cross-functional teams to identify potential failure modes and develop effective mitigation strategies.
  • Support the integration of FMA activities into the product development lifecycle from concept to launch.
  • Perform monitoring and analysis of FMA process implementation to identify trends prioritize risks and support continuous improvement efforts.
  • Collaborate with design manufacturing and quality teams to implement FMA recommendations and ensure their effectiveness.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and emerging technologies related to FMA and reliability engineering.
  • Contribute to a culture of proactive problem-solving and continuous improvement within the organization.
  • Travel up to 10% within North America


Qualifications

Youll have

  • A Bachelors degree
  • Experience in engineering or science with a focus on FMA reliability engineering or related areas
  • Experience with problem-solving tools and techniques (e.g.8D5Why Ishikawa diagrams).
  • Strong communication interpersonal and collaboration skills.

Even better youll have

  • BS in Mechanical Electrical or Computer Science Engineering
  • Experience in automotive body design & release experience strongly preferred
  • A passion for improving product quality
  • A history of communicating and presenting Quality data in an informative and persuasive approach
  • GPDS knowledge is a plus
  • Certified6-Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt (DMAICorDFSS).
  • Experience in a Quality and/or testing Organization.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g. AIAG FMEA Handbookv1 IATF16949).
  • Magic Draw FMA tool familiarity.
