This Sr. EPIC Analytics DBA-ETL Administrator is responsible for the maintenance and optimization of all databases supported by the Data Warehousing team with an emphasis on security data integrity and performance. This position also serves the role of ETL administrator for the Epic Clarity database and Epic Caboodle data warehouse as well as the administrator for Epic data cubes and the Epic Slicer Dicer tool. Other key responsibilities include migrating code from development environments into production performing upgrades of supported databases and cubes administering Team Foundation Server installing/configuring/upgrading SQL Server user provisioning backup/restore ownership and monitoring disk space. This position will be the primary point of contact for server engineers to coordinate changes to hardware storage and OS on the servers.
Required Qualifications: Sr. EPIC Analytics DBA-ETL Administrator
Minimum of five years working in an information technology role of which a minimum of three years experience as a database administrator including two years on a Microsoft SQL Server platform required.
Bachelors degree OR equivalent combination of education/experience combined required (one year of education equals one year of experience).
Strong working knowledge of SQL Server database administration required to include installation/configuration/upgrade/migration of databases user security auditing backup/recovery capacity planning monitoring troubleshooting and performance tuning.
Microsoft Transact-SQL ad-hoc query writing required.
SQL stored procedure writing required.
Basic knowledge of ETL processes required.
Preferred Qualifications: Sr. EPIC Analytics DBA-ETL Administrator
Prior experience within a data and/or analytics department at a large-scale health system or health information technology company preferred.
Experience with leading healthcare information systems (e.g. Epic Cerner McKesson GE Lawson Kronos Strata Jazz) preferred.
Bachelors degree in computer science CIS MIS Engineering or related field preferred.
Epic certification in Clarity Administration and Caboodle Administration is preferred.
Certification as a Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate for SQL Server preferred.
Working knowledge of Microsoft SSIS preferred.
Working knowledge of Microsoft SSAS cubes preferred to include setup and
administration skills.
Data modeling experience and familiarly with those design tools such as Erwin or Embarcadero preferred.
Familiarity with Epic Clarity Epic Caboodle and Epic Slicer Dicer preferred especially to
include administration responsibilities.
Working knowledge of Team Foundation Server preferred.
