Job responsibilities
- Applies advanced technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies to the design implementation and management of high-availability and disaster recovery solutions on the IBM Z platform.
- Drives workstreams and projects focused on GDPS (Geographically Dispersed Parallel Sysplex) architecture implementation and automation across multiple mainframe environments.
- Collaborates with other platform teams to architect and implement changes required to modernize infrastructure improve resilience and resolve complex technical issues.
- Develops and customizes automation scripts and integrates with mainframe automation tools to streamline operations and enhance system reliability.
- Leads complex projects provides technical guidance and mentorship to team members and manages vendor and client relationships.
- Coordinates and assists with deployment testing failover and recovery scenarios ensuring robust documentation and reporting.
- Engages directly with clients and stakeholders to understand requirements and communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and business audiences.

Required qualifications capabilities and skills
- Deep knowledge of infrastructure engineering including mainframe hardware networking storage engineering automation and performance assessments.
- In-depth expertise in IBM Z platform technologies including z/OS Parallel Sysplex Logical Partitions (LPARs) and GDPS disaster recovery solutions.
- Proficiency in mainframe automation and scripting languages (e.g. REXX JCL) and tools such as NetView and Tivoli System Automation.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP FICON SAN) within mainframe environments.
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects manage client relationships and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Advanced analytical and troubleshooting skills to resolve complex technical issues and identify performance bottlenecks.
- Drives to continue to develop technical and cross-functional knowledge outside of the product.
- Deep knowledge of cloud infrastructure and multiple cloud technologies with the ability to operate in and migrate across public and private clouds.
Preferred qualifications capabilities and skills
- Experience in a client-facing or consulting capacity including requirements analysis presentations and leading technical workshops.
- Experience with IBM DS8000 storage systems.
- Experience coordinating disaster recovery and high-availability testing and documentation.
